Animal Film Fesitval

The 5th Animal Film Festival on Tour comes to Marin Humane! Inspiring compassion through film, this event features award-winning films from the 2018 Animal Film Festival produced by the Center for Animal Protection & Education (CAPE), a non-profit animal advocacy organization with locations in both Santa Cruz and Grass Valley, CA. This enlightening program includes: A Chance for Change – Changed by his love for a wild mustang, a high-risk convict struggles towards a brighter future. The Walrus Whisperer – Former animal trainer Phil Demers tells the story of his unique bond with a walrus named Smooshi and his ongoing fight against Marineland. Verge – An animated short about a newborn turtle’s attempts to find the ocean amidst discarded trash. Killing Games – In this groundbreaking expose, Project Coyote inspires viewers to call on their state and local legislators to bring an end to legally sanctioned but relatively unknown contests where wild animals become living targets. (NOTE: These films are all family friendly except Killing Games which is not meant for young or sensitive viewers.) Doors open at 6:30 pm.
